This Boom skeleton pendant is a statement-piece that is designed and intricately hand-crafted by Bobby White at his London studio from either 18ct red gold, yellow gold or white gold with round brilliant cut diamonds.
The pendant is on the Bobby White signature Sixteen 1-8 custom chain which is made from 18ct red gold with round brilliant cut white and black diamonds.
The boom style was originally designed for a musician who wanted a necklace that expressed his feelings on stage. The grenade was the symbol of the explosion of energy he felt when he stepped out into an arena and heard the crowd roar.
The sixteen 1-8 chain was designed to symbolise a cage around the precious diamonds to keep the treasure safe. Growing up in London’s East-End, Bobby would regularly hear people referring to a safe as a Peter. The word Peter from London East-End comes from the same roots as Saint Peter, Peter is the Greek word for rock and since safes are rock solid, some Londoners would use this word in place of a safe. St Peter also held the keys of the kingdom of heaven, given more theory that the word Peter (safe) is derived from St Peter. The chains name, sixteen 1-8 is a word play on Matthew 16:18. In Matthew 16:18 Jesus says to St Peter, “And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church”.
This necklace is 28 inches in length.
